Question:

Would you agree that promises made to poor children are rarely kept? Why do you think this happens in the incidents narrated in the text?

Answer:

Yes we agree that the promises made to poor children are rarely kept. The people who promise the children are not even taken seriously. They make promises just to give them fake happiness and hope for that instant of time. But when children grow up, they realize it was a fake promise which hurts them a lot which should not be done by any people to make fake promises.

In the tent, the author made a promise to Sahib, she encouraged them to study, to go to school and made promises jokingly that she will make the school for them but when the narrator came and asked her about school then she realized her mistake and got embarrassed in front of Saheb.
