Bill Bryson “ached to be suave&rdq | Class 9 English - Moments Chapter The Accidental Tourist, The Accidental Tourist NCERT Solutions

Question:

Bill Bryson “ached to be suave”. Is he successful in his mis- sion? List his ‘unsuave’ ways.

Answer:

The answer is no, bill could never manage to suave in his ways. He would stand up from a dinner table without looking as if he had just experienced an extraordinarily localized seismic event. He would get in a car and close the door by leaving fourteen inches of coat outside. He would wear light-coloured trousers by discovering at the end of the day that he had sat several times on chewing gum, ice cream, cough syrup and motor oil. He tired to be suave, but it was not to be.
