Answer:

Mrs Pumphrey thought that Tricki’s recovery was a triumph of surgery because in two weeks he had recovered completely and had been transformed into a hard and muscular animal from a weak dog who was being lazy all the time with his tongue rolling out of his mouth. When Tricki saw her, he leaped into her lap and licked her face with joy. She was so excited to see him like this and then tears started rolling out of her eyes.
