What is the advantage of having four chambered heart?

Answer:

Advantages of having four- chambered heart are as follows:-

  1. Four chambered hearts shows complete double circulation with clear cut division of their works.
  2. The right auricle receives the deoxygenated blood from the body and sends it into the right ventricle that pumps into the lungs through pulmonary arches for oxygenation and the left auricle receives oxygenated blood from the lungs and sends it into the left ventricle which pumps it to the body parts through aortic arch at the same time. Thus, the deoxygenated blood and oxygenated blood remain fully separate and show double circulation.
  3. Blood has fast flow and high pressure which provide a high metabolic rate.
