The importance of the soil for the growth of plants as follows:-
1. The main source of water to soil is rain. And soil plays an important role as the water storage and medium for the root growth.
2. It is also a reservoir of mineral nutrients and provides anchorage for the plants.
3. Soil provides the base for the growth of plants.
4. It contains microorganisms which help in the growth of the plant and in life processes.
