Comment on the statement that "evolution and natural selection are end result or consequence of some other processes but themselves are not processes".
Evolution helps us to understand the descents with modifications (encompasses evolutionary change at genetic, organism and population level) or the history of life. Evolution can be viewed in two different ways: as a pattern of evolutionary change (these changes comes about through the abundant production of genetic variation in every generation) and as a process of evolution. On the other hand, natural selection to describe the process by which organisms with favourable conditions or variation will survive and reproduces at higher rate. An inherited variations which increases the chances of organism’s survival in the particular environment is known as adaptation and who will not adapt the variations among the environment will die. In this way, according to Darwin, evolution (occurs by the favourable variations) by natural selection would occur. So, we are still not clear whether to regard evolution and natural selection as the processes or the end result of the process.
