What would happen if green plants disapp | Class 10 Science Chapter Life Processes, Life Processes NCERT Solutions

Question:

What would happen if green plants disappear from earth?

Answer:

Green plants are necessary for the gaseous exchange, they take carbon dioxide from the environment and release oxygen to all living organisms for breathing. As all the green plants are autotrophs they play an important role as the source of energy for all the heterotrophs because heterotrophs are dependent on the autotrophs. Green plants convert solar energy into the chemical energy for making the food source. If the plants disappear from the earth it will lead to imbalance in the atmosphere.
