A large variety of plants, animals, and microbes found on earth and they differ in size, shape, colour, habitat, and many other characteristics. So, studying each of them is impossible. Therefore, scientists have devised mechanisms to classify all living organisms on certain rules and principles that allow identification, nomenclature, and finally classification of an organism.
For example, based on presence of three pairs of legs and 2 pairs of wings, an organism is identified as an insect, it will be given a scientific name and then grouped with other similar organisms. Thus, various groups or taxon include organisms based on their similarity and differences.
Therefore, the biological classification helps in revealing the relationship between various organisms. It also helps in making study of organisms easy and organized.

Welcome to the NCERT Solutions for Class 12 Biology - Chapter . This page offers a step-by-step solution to the specific question from Excercise 1 , Question 3: A diploid organism is heterozygous for 4 loci, how many types of gametes can be produced?....

Thanks for help!!!
Formula for calculating no. of gametes is 2 to the power n, where n is no of the genes. Here heterozygous for four loci means, four diff genes as alleles for a gene are present on same locus on the homologois pair. So the answer is 2^4=16
I can't understand
I can't understand
Plz ask me how many types of gametes can be produced ??
So answer is 8 or 16? If 16 please explain I didnât understand
formula is 2^n.where n=no. of loci .therefore,2^4=16 types of gametes
If a diploid organism is homozygous for two loci then the gametes formed will be say A B C D respectively.Since it\'s a diploid organism the number of gametes will be 2Ãn. Therefore the number of gametes will be 2Ã4=8
I have a question ... If rwo loici are homozygous. .. thn vot will be the no. Of gametes produced...
