Question:

What is meant by gene cloning?

Answer:

Cloning refers to the method that involves the replication of single DNA molecule to generate a large population of cells and every cell contains identical DNA molecules. Gene cloning refers to the gene of interest ligated into the vector or the suitable host organism to direct their replication within the host organism. And these DNA fragments should be selectively amplified and they form recombinant DNA by this transformation process. This recombinant DNA technology enables the DNA to be identified, isolated and then recombined so that new features can be found or introduced in the organism. This DNA cloning approach based on two:- Cell based and Cell free DNA cloning.
