Answer:

India sets up National Forest Commission for the review and to access the India’s Policy and laws, their effects and impact on forests and on local forest communities and to make some recommendations to achieve sustainable forest and ecological security. The National Forest Commission of India recommended a relatively larger forest cover for hills than for plains to check the soil erosion, percolation and recharging groundwater, to check and reduce the landslides or other natural calamities. Or the main reason is to maintain the flora and fauna of the hills.
