What does the term `memory' of the Immune system mean?

Answer:

When the pathogen enters into the body for the first time, it produces an immune response by generating antibodies. This response is of low intensity. By ensuring encounter with the same pathogen brings out a highly intensified secondary response.

This explained the fact that our body appears to have memory of the first encounter. This type of secondary immune response brings out by memory T- cells and B- cells which keep ready to produce a rapid and vigorous attack as soon as the same pathogen infects the body again.
