Write down the common features of the connective tissue. On the basis of structure and function, differentiate between bones and cartilages.

Answer:

Some common features of connective tissues are:

They can regenerate and connect different parts of body.
They provide a structural rigidity support and protection of body.
These tissue have mesodermal origin.
Fibres, cells and matrix are present in this tissue.

Bones	Cartilage
Structure: Bones are hard, highly rigid, connective tissue that forms the skeleton of vertebrates.	Cartilage is a thin fibrous, flexible connective tissue.
Bone cells are known as osteocytes.	Cartilaginous cells are called chondrocytes.
Bone marrow is the site of production of blood cells.	Cartilage forms models for growing bones.
