Question:

A cell has 32 chromosomes. It undergoes mitotic division. What will be the chromosome number (N) during metaphase? What would be the
DNA content (C) during anaphase?

Answer:

Chromosome number (N) during metaphase = 32 (N)

DNA content (c) during anaphase = 2C

During the mitotic stage, the chromosomes number will not change during the metaphase and the number will remain 32. DNA replication takes place during S- phase where the DNA doubles just after this phase and will remain so.
