Smaller, lipid soluble molecules diffuse faster through cell membrane, but the movement of hydrophilic substances are facilitated by certain transporters which are chemically ____________.

Answer:

Hydrophilic substances are those which are soluble in water like glucose, sodium ions and chloride ions etc. They cannot pass through the biological membrane due to the hydrophobic nature of the lipids which makes up the cell membrane. Transport of these substances are facilitated by the transporter Proteins.
