Stomach is located in upper left portion of the abdominal cavity and has three major parts. Name these three parts.
The three major parts of stomach are: Cardiac, Fundus and Pyloric part.
Cardiac is left broad upper part. The oesophagus opens into it and this opening is called the cardiac aperture or cardia. This is guarded by a valve, the cardiac sphincter which checks the regurgitation of food. Fundus is the small, dome like upper part that projects above the cardiac aperture. It contains gas or air. Pyloric Part is the right narrow lower portion of the stomach. It comprises a wider pyloric antrum and a narrow pyloric canal which leads into small intestine and goes on which helps in the regulation of passage of food into the intestine.
