A ball of snow when rolled over snow increases in mass, volume and size. Is this comparable to growth as seen in living organisms? Why?
Yes, it is true. In case of growth in a living being or an organism, there is accumulation of material from inside the cells of the organisms during the cell cycle. But in case of snow ball, i.e. non- living, it increases the mass, volume and size which is because of accumulation of material from outside. Thus, the growth in a snowball is different from the growth seen in living organisms.
