What are plasmids? Describe their role in bacteria?
 

Answer:

Many bacteria or prokaryotes have small, circular DNA molecules outside the Genomic DNA. These smaller DNA molecules are known as Plasmid. This DNA is used to monitor bacterial transformation with foreign DNA. Phenotypic Character like resistance to antibiotics are granted by this plasmid DNA to such bacteria.
