Answer:

Species existence, abundance and distribution in the ecosystem are defined by the range of tolerance to the environment variables. Shelford’s law of tolerance defines that there are upper and lower limit of tolerance threshold values on the environment gradient above or below amount of values, those species cannot survive. As the upper and lower limit/range of tolerance of temperature factor is known is eury and stenothermal organisms; similarly the species that can tolerate wide range of salinity are known as euryhaline.
