What is the difference between endemic and exotic species?
Endemism or endemic species: Endemism represents those species which are native (originated there) to a particular geographic area or continent. For example: Koala bear, the Red Kangaroo etc.
Exotic species: An invasive species are also called exotic or non- native species and have the tendency to damage the ecosystem. They include several common characteristics like rapid reproduction and growth, high dispersal ability, can adapt themselves physiologically according to the new conditions. For example: Eichhornia, Cane toad etc.
