Answer:

Genetic variation leads to the evolution by the mutation in the organism which forms the new characteristics. Rauwolfia vomitorial (contains alkaloids which are used in medicine) is a medicinal herb plant in which genetic variation leads to the production of drug reserpine that are used to treat various patients that are suffering from hypertension and the mental illness.
